The Enormous Tiny Art Show, which I’m a part of, opened tonight at the Nahcotta Gallery in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.  The show features 50 artists and over 400 tiny works of art no larger than ten by ten inches.  I’m unable to attend the show, but it’s a pleasure to exhibit among so many talented artists.  A special thanks to Nahcotta for both the invitation to exhibit and for all their hard work putting the show together.  Hanging 400+ pieces is no small feat!

All of the artwork is for sale at the gallery or online.  During the month of September shipping is free.

My work

KIPP LA is a network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public charter schools.  They asked me to design a logo that combined the Los Angeles skyline with something agricultural (many of the students’ families have agricultural roots).  I like the finished mark but the turnaround was extremely quick leaving no opportunity to design a more robust identity system.  At any rate I hope the kids enjoy the logo as they head back to school.  Perhaps it will ease the pain of summer screeching to a halt.  I doubt it!

This is an oldie (I used After effects 5.0 and Photoshop 6.0!) from my undergraduate studies. It’s a music video for Queen’s ‘Bicycle Race’ illustrated using only black and white typography. The animation interprets the bicycle as a metaphor for freedom and personal expression. Enjoy!

Last weekend Erin and I participated in the Santa Monica Festival. This was our first festival as vendors and we had a blast while learning a great deal about presenting our work.
