A significant portion of my design focuses on using ordinary materials in new ways. In that spirit I created TwentyFour Wine which uses rubber bands as its label. In doing so an everyday item is transformed into something beautiful. This reflects a good wine’s ability to transform a normal meal or occasion into something more meaningful and unique.
The name TwentyFour refers to the circumference of the bottle (in centimeters).
As an added bonus the rubber bands ensure that the bottle will not slip from your hands after an enjoyable evening with friends!
Noella over at GOOD Magazine introduced me to their publication as media for people who give a damn. I think that’s pretty accurate: if you subscribe 100% of your money goes to an organization of your choice. I love the idea behind the project and the magazine itself is well designed and executed. For example, the info graphic about Getting to Know the Homeless is superb:
The rows of human icons are smartly manipulated to portray the data; i.e. in one row the gradient indicates ethnicity, in another upside down icons indicate the percentage of homeless with mental disabilities, and so on.
They were kind enough to include my Geo + Info Postcards in the July/August issue. I’m honored to be a part of their publication as I feel the motives behind creating the magazine and the postcards are similar. GOOD indeed!
I’ve posted my Greenscape painting on Etsy. It’s from 2003 but this is the first time it has been offered for sale.
8 Mac OS X icons inspired by the whimsical creatures and objects inhabiting my sketchbooks. Each one is designed to look like an individual page, so when used together they look like scattered pages on your desktop.
